This village is located on the left bank of the Lot, in a meander. Its name comes from «pescatores», which means «fishermen». The fisheries of the Middle Ages financed the priory Saint Pierre-és-liens, during the 11th and 12th C., (former priory dependent of Moissac) of which the current church is the only vestige of this period. Over time, the activity turned to vine and wine. Pescadoires is the seat of the Federation of Independent Winegrowers of the Lot, grouping 115 independent winegrowers, creators of their own wine.
