The summer Randochais

Activities Rachel By Rachel, the 29 May 2018

The Lot Valley and its Vienyard represents 80% of Cahors wine production. The landscapes of the hillsides or the banks of the Lot river, are marked by the vine, it is nice to walk there to discover the characteristics of its emblematic grape variety: the Malbec. Cahors wine is only red, a red so dark that it is sometimes called "black wine"! It is composed of, at least, 70% of Malbec. But there are also other productions full of surprises, developed in our territory, such as the IGP (protected geographical indication) Côtes du Lot, wines classified "vin de pays", Comté Tolosan wines they exist in red, rosé or white version. You can discover them thanks to the summer Randochais.

In collaboration with 5 local hiking associations and about thirty winegrowers, the Lot-Vineyard Intermunicipal Tourist Office, organises once again this summer the Randochais, starting from each of its Tourist Information Offices. Novelty of the year: Some of the Randochais will be gustative hikes, with a wine tasting and local cuisine!

It is very simple, we walk on small trials, from 5 to 6km, in a wine estate, accompanied by specialists from hiking clubs who know the route perfectly. Meet winegrowers, they wil share their passion for the vine and wine with you and show you their cellar. To top it all, taste, in moderation, all kinds of wines (white, rosé or red) from the producer! The youngest will not be left out, they will enjoy a real grape juice!

Feel free to look at the Randochais schedule, and download it on our website, www.tourisme-lot-vignoble.com, you can also find it in our tourist information offices. Pick your Randochais, bring good shoes, grab a bottle of water and let's go!
