The 9th edition of the Transhumance from Rocamadour to Luzech run from 11th to 15 April 2017.
This is a way to discover or rediscover Lot, alone, with family or friends… Everyone can walk part of the herd.
Organized by the Foncière Pastorale organization of Luzech and the Transhumance organization of Quercy, with the support of Departmental Council of Lot, the Transhumance constitute a symbol of brushy spaces recapture. This year more than 600 caussenardes sheeps will do 70 kilometers in 5 days, with the same itinerary: Carlucet, Frayssinet, Gigouzac, Crayssac, and finally to Luzech, on the summer pasture land.
Wear good strong shoes, and make sure you have water: now you are ready to follow the herd.
Take the opportunity to take a walk  on the breathtakingcountry lanes between Rocamadour and Luzech. After some 15th kilometers following the sheeps, the finishing line is close! After this physical effort, enjoy a moment of comfort!  For each city stop, the locals will warmly welcome you with an original activity followed by  theme meal... Lamb, obviously! Each city stop will have is own atmosphere.
On Saturday morning, the sheeps will  take a well-earned break, on the Canal Place,  to rest and recuperate before ending the 3 last kilometers to achieve the Blanchard plain in Luzech. Taste the delicious farm lamb of Quercy, have a look to the  sheep-shearing workshop and meet young sheep farmers, and enjoy the musical entertainment. On arrival day is a day for festivities! The sheeps will stay on the  pasture land from April to June, then they will march straight up to Bélaye in June.
